⚙️ How TallyPrime Creates PDFs
TallyPrime lets you export vouchers, invoices and reports as PDF files. PDF output helps with sharing financial documents electronically, keeping records and cutting paper use.
PDF Generation Process in TallyPrime:
- User opens a voucher, invoice or report
- Initiates export using keyboard shortcut or menu
- Selects PDF as the output format
- Configures export settings (path, filename, etc.)
- TallyPrime renders the document layout
- PDF file is created with embedded metadata
PDF output keeps the formatting and layout of the original document, so invoices, financial statements and reports look like their printed versions.
💡 Did You Know?
Tally lists the PDF format as "PDF (Read-only Document)" in its File Format list. The label shows the file is meant for viewing and sharing, not editing.

Yes. TallyPrime supports GST e-Invoicing and prints the invoice with the IRN (Invoice Reference Number) and QR code after the IRN is generated, as Tally explains in Generate e-Invoice (IRN) and Print QR Code. Press Ctrl+E on that invoice and select PDF to export it.
