Exchange journal wrappers are preserved in full. When Barracuda archives messages via Exchange journaling with the Preserve Journal Wrappers setting enabled, the journal envelope is stored alongside the email. This envelope contains BCC recipients and original SMTP data that are not visible in the standard email headers — critical information for legal proceedings where BCC discovery is required. Follow these steps: (1) Log into the Barracuda Message Archiver web interface, (2) Navigate to BASIC → Search and run your search, (3) Click Export and choose PST or ZIP format, (4) Select your chunk size (800MB, 4.7GB or custom), (5) Choose EML naming convention (Numerical, Date or Date/From/To), (6) Click Export — the export runs as a background task visible on the Tasks tab, (7) Download all chunks when complete, (8) Open Univik Barracuda Archive Converter, load all files and convert.
