SeaMonkey keeps each mail folder as one mbox file inside your profile. This tool opens that file in your browser and reads it on your own device. There is no server and nothing leaves your computer.
Point it at the Inbox or Sent file from your SeaMonkey profile. Your browser splits it into messages where the file already sits.
SeaMonkey does not have to be installed. Open the mailbox on a computer or phone that has never run it.

Open the profile under %APPDATA% in File Explorer, copy the Inbox or Sent file to your Desktop and open it here in Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

SeaMonkey, the all in one internet suite, stores mail the Mozilla way in the mboxrd flavour, the same shape Thunderbird, Postbox and old Netscape Messenger use. The viewer knows that shape and reads it message by message, with no ImportExportTools add-on and no email client involved.
SeaMonkey begins each message with a From - line, the word From and a single dash before the date. The tool splits on those lines, so the count matches what SeaMonkey shows in its folder pane.
Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Templates, Trash and Junk have no file ending. Pick the mailbox file itself, not the small .msf index that sits next to it.
The X-Mozilla-Status, X-Mozilla-Status2 and X-Mozilla-Keys lines SeaMonkey writes stay in the message, and X-Mozilla-Keys is where the tags you applied live. You can read them in the Headers tab with Message-ID, Received and the rest of the raw headers.
Subjects and names in Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or Hindi are decoded from their encoded form and shown as real text.
PDF, Office and image files attached to a message open in the Attachments tab. Save one file or zip them all.
CRLF, plain Unix LF and old Mac CR are all read, so a mailbox copied between machines still opens with the right message count.
In your SeaMonkey profile open the Mail folder and then Local Folders. An IMAP account keeps its mail under ImapMail instead. The files are named Inbox, Sent and Drafts with no extension.
Drop the file onto the upload box or click Choose files. The list of SeaMonkey messages fills in as the file is read.
Pick any message to open it, move through the Plain text, Headers and Attachments tabs and download whatever you want to keep.
The mailbox files live in your SeaMonkey profile. Here is where to look on each system.
Your profile is a folder with a random name ending in .default, and Help, then Troubleshooting Information, has a Show Folder button that jumps straight to it. Or open %APPDATA%\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\ and pick your profile folder. Local mail is under Mail\Local Folders\ and account mail is under ImapMail\. The files are Inbox, Sent and Drafts.
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/SeaMonkey/Profiles/, open your profile and then the Mail folder. Library is hidden, so use Finder Go to Folder and paste the path.
Look in the hidden ~/.mozilla/seamonkey/ folder, open your profile and then Mail. Turn on hidden files in your file manager to see it.
Folders you made under Inbox sit inside Inbox.sbd, a folder ending in .sbd, each with its own extension-less file. The small .msf files are indexes, not mail, so leave them alone.

Yes. This page reads the SeaMonkey mailbox file on its own. Copy the Inbox or Sent file from the profile to any computer or phone, open this page and pick the file. The device does not need SeaMonkey or any mail program.
Pick the plain file named Inbox, Sent or Drafts with no extension. Do not pick the file that ends in .msf next to it. That one is a small index SeaMonkey builds for itself, not your mail.
The Mozilla programs, SeaMonkey and Thunderbird, name each mail folder after the folder with no ending. Inside, the file is plain mbox text. The tool reads it by its content, so the missing extension is not a problem.
Folders you made under Inbox are stored inside a folder named Inbox.sbd. Open that folder and you will find one extension-less file per subfolder. Pick the one you want and open it here.

Some tools break a mailbox apart only at a Unix line ending. A SeaMonkey file saved on Windows uses CRLF, and an old copy can use CR. This viewer checks the line ending first and splits on the real From dash lines, so every message shows up.
