1. Create the mailbox in hPanel
The address and its password have to exist under Emails in hPanel before any app can sign in. Your Hostinger account login does not work in a mail app.

Hostinger is a web hosting company founded in 2004 and based in Kaunas, Lithuania. Its plans include email on your own domain through Hostinger Email.
Hostinger runs its own panel called hPanel and its own email platform. Unlike hosts that give each mailbox a different server, Hostinger uses one fixed set of servers for everyone. It also sells Google Workspace as a separate option with its own settings.

Your Mailbox Password#
Hostinger Email has no app passwords. Each mailbox has its own password that you pick when you create the address in hPanel. That mailbox password is what an email app needs, not the login you use for your Hostinger account.

Set or Reset a Mailbox Password
- Open hPanel and go to Emails, then choose Manage next to your domain.
- Find the mailbox and open its Change Password option.
- Type a new password and save the change.
- Update that password in every app and device that opens this mailbox.
Set Up Hostinger in Email Clients#
The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- In Outlook go to File then Add Account. The new Outlook keeps this under Settings, Accounts, Add account.
- Type your Hostinger address and pick the manual setup option if Outlook does not detect it.
- Set IMAP to
imap.hostinger.comon port993SSL and SMTP tosmtp.hostinger.comon port465SSL. - Enter your mailbox password when Outlook prompts, the one you set in hPanel.
- Mail yourself a test to check both directions.
Apple Mail (macOS)
- In Mail go to Settings then Accounts and choose Add Account.
- Pick Other Mail Account, since Hostinger is not on the provider list.
- Enter your name, address and mailbox password, then carry on.
- Provide the servers from the tables above should Mail request them.
- Tick Mail in the app list to finish.
iPhone and iPad
- In Settings go to Apps then Mail, open Mail Accounts and tap Add Account.
- Tap Other then Add Mail Account, since iOS has no Hostinger entry.
- Add your details with the mailbox password, then tap Next.
- Leave IMAP chosen and enter both servers by hand when iOS asks.
- Tap Save and let iOS check the mailbox.
Android
- Launch the phone mail app, Gmail or Samsung Email say, then tap Add account.
- Pick Other or Personal IMAP when Hostinger is missing from the list.
- Enter your address and mailbox password, then pick Manual setup when it does not self configure.
- Set incoming to

Thunderbird
- In Thunderbird open Account Settings, followed by Account Actions and Add Mail Account.
- Provide your name, address and mailbox password, then select Continue.
- Choose Configure manually if the automatic guess looks wrong.
- Enter the table values, with IMAP picked and SSL on both servers.
- Select Done to finish the setup.
2026 App Changes to Know#
Two big email apps changed how they handle outside accounts in 2026. Neither touches your Hostinger servers. Both change how you reach your mailbox from those apps, so here is what moved and what to do.
Gmail dropped POP and Gmailify
From January 2026 Gmail on the web stopped pulling outside mail over POP and stopped Gmailify. Your Hostinger mail still lives on Hostinger. Gmail was only the window.
What to do: read Hostinger mail through IMAP in the Gmail mobile app. A mail client set up with the servers on this page also works. So does mail.hostinger.com in a browser.
The new Outlook dropped IMAP and POP
Microsoft new Outlook app no longer connects outside accounts over IMAP or POP and turns them away over time. Classic Outlook still works.
What to do: keep classic Outlook for now. Thunderbird and Apple Mail are steady alternatives. mail.hostinger.com works in any browser.
Hostinger Webmail Settings#
Server settings connect your apps. These settings shape how the mailbox itself acts. Some sit in webmail and some in hPanel.
Signature
Open mail.hostinger.com, then Settings and your identity. A signature added here shows in webmail alone. Outlook and other apps keep their own.
Vacation Auto Reply
Open hPanel, go to Emails then Manage then Auto Reply. Give it a start and end date so it ends by itself. Hostinger sends the reply from the server, so your computer can be off.
Filters and Folders
Open hPanel, go to Emails then Manage then Email Filters. Server side rules sort your mail ahead of Outlook or your phone opening it. Rules inside an app act only while that app is running.
Spam and Blocked Senders
Hostinger runs SpamAssassin on incoming mail. Manage safe and blocked senders in hPanel under Emails then Manage. Flagged mail drops into a spam folder based on the score.

Hostinger Sending and Storage Limits#
Hostinger caps outgoing mail so one account cannot flood the servers. Know the rough limits before you bulk forward or migrate a mailbox:

Troubleshooting Hostinger Connections#
Find the exact error your email app shows, then apply the fix:

Reader Reported Fixes
Confirm the account is Hostinger Email, not cPanel. Readers who could not connect found their plan ran cPanel, where the server is mail.yourdomain.com rather than imap.hostinger.com. Check which product you have in your panel, then use the matching server.
Switch the outgoing port when sending stalls. Mail that would not leave cleared once the outgoing port moved to 465 with SSL. Port 587 with STARTTLS works where a network blocks the usual port. Keep outgoing authentication on.

IMAP
Internet Message Access Protocol. Reads mail that stays on the server, so all your devices see the same inbox, folders and read status.
POP3
Post Office Protocol version 3. Downloads mail to 1 device and can remove it from the server. Older method, still useful for local archives.
SMTP
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Sends your outgoing mail. Every account needs it next to IMAP or POP3, which only receive.
SSL / TLS / STARTTLS
Encryption for the connection. SSL/TLS encrypts from the start (ports 993, 995, 465). STARTTLS upgrades a plain connection (port 587).
Mailbox Password
The password you set for each address under Emails in hPanel. Your email app signs in with this, not your Hostinger account login.
hPanel
The control panel Hostinger built in place of cPanel. You create mailboxes, set passwords and read the server details inside it.
imap.hostinger.com
The single incoming server for Hostinger Email on port 993 with SSL. The same name works for every mailbox on the platform.
