Thexyz setup is quick once one thing clicks. The server name is not the one most people guess.
1. Use secure.emailsrvr.com as the server
Thexyz mail is hosted on secure.emailsrvr.com. Do not enter imap.thexyz.com or mail.thexyz.com in a client. Those do not work for sending or receiving. The webmail address webmail.thexyz.com is for the browser only.

Thexyz retired its non-SSL ports, so SSL has to be on for 993, 995 and 465. Your username is your full address and your password is the same one you use at webmail.thexyz.com.

About Thexyz Mail#
Thexyz is a Canadian privacy focused email provider, paid and free of ads, running its Premium Email service on the OpenText email cloud.
The one thing that trips people up is the server name. Thexyz mail is not hosted at thexyz.com, it is hosted on secure.emailsrvr.com. That single host handles IMAP, POP and SMTP on their SSL ports. You sign in with your full address and your normal password, the same one you use at webmail.thexyz.com. Thexyz also offers ActiveSync, called MobileSync, on a separate Exchange host for push mail and calendar sync.

Thexyz SMTP Settings#
SMTP runs on the same host, secure.emailsrvr.com, on port 465 with SSL. If 465 is blocked on your network, port 587 is the fallback. Reading mail but unable to send points at the outgoing side.

Set Up Thexyz in Email Clients#
The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- In Outlook choose File then Add Account. In the new Outlook the same option sits under Settings and then Accounts.
- Type your full Thexyz address, expand Advanced options and switch on the manual setup checkbox.
- Choose IMAP and set both servers to
secure.emailsrvr.com. Incoming is port993SSL and outgoing is port465SSL. - Enter your normal Thexyz password when Outlook asks, with your full address as the username.
- Finish and send a test email to yourself to confirm both directions work.
Apple Mail (macOS)
- Open Mail → Settings → Accounts → Add Account.
- Select Thexyz if listed, otherwise choose Other Mail Account.
- Give your name, your full address and your normal password, then continue.
- If asked for servers, enter the IMAP and SMTP values from the tables above.
- Enable Mail in the checkbox list and finish.
iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account.
- Tap Other, then Add Mail Account. iOS has no Thexyz preset.
- Type your full address with your normal password, then tap Next.
- Keep IMAP selected and set both the incoming and outgoing server to
secure.emailsrvr.comif iOS asks. - Tap Save and wait for iOS to verify the account.
Android
- Open your mail app (Gmail app, Samsung Email or another) → Add account.
- Choose Other (IMAP) when your provider is not in the list.
- Type your full address with your normal password. If automatic detection fails, pick Manual setup.
- Enter the servers:

Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird → Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account.
- Fill in your name, full address and normal password, then select Continue.
- Set both servers by hand to
secure.emailsrvr.com, since Thunderbird cannot autodetect this host. Pick IMAP, 993 SSL incoming and 465 SSL outgoing, with Normal Password auth. - If detection fails, choose Configure manually and enter the table values above.
- Select Done. Folders sync on first open.
Thexyz Webmail Settings#
Those values connect your apps. What follows shapes the mailbox itself. It lives in the Thexyz webmail at webmail.thexyz.com rather than in any client.
Signature
Set in the Thexyz webmail settings. Anything you save there appears only on mail sent from the browser. Each desktop client keeps its own.
Vacation Auto Reply
Set an away message in webmail.thexyz.com. The reply goes out from the server, so it keeps answering with every device powered down.
Filters and Folders
A filter built in the Thexyz webmail runs on the server and sorts incoming mail before any client pulls it down. A rule inside Outlook only acts while Outlook is open.
Spam and Blocked Senders
Thexyz filters spam server side. If a message goes missing, check the webmail spam folder first, then tune your allow and block lists.

Moving to Thexyz?#
Most people arrive at Thexyz from Gmail, Outlook.com or an old hosting mailbox. None of that earlier mail follows you automatically. An IMAP connection mirrors what is on the server now, so anything from before the switch stays behind until you carry it over.

Encryption for the connection. SSL/TLS encrypts from the start (ports 993, 995, 465). STARTTLS upgrades a plain connection (port 587).
Mail host
The server your client connects to. For Thexyz this is secure.emailsrvr.com, the OpenText email cloud, not a thexyz.com address.
