Both come from the mailbox itself. The username is the whole email address and the password is the one you chose when you built the address in Mein Vodafone. A standard Vodafone mailbox uses no email password.

Type you@vodafone.de in full, with the part after the at sign. Vodafone turns down a bare mailbox name.

Set Up Vodafone in Email Clients#
The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- In Outlook select Add Account, then turn on manual setup under Advanced options.
- Choose IMAP and set incoming to
imap.vodafonemail.deon 993 with SSL. - Set outgoing to the same server on 465 with SSL.
- Enter the full address and mailbox password when Outlook prompts you.
- Send a test message to yourself to prove both paths.
Apple Mail (macOS)
- In Mail select Add Account, then pick Other Mail Account.
- Give your name, Vodafone address and password, then continue.
- Enter imap.vodafonemail.de with SSL on incoming and outgoing.
- Keep the SSL ports so nothing sends in plain text.
- Save and wait for the mailbox to load.
iPhone and iPad

Why Old Arcor and Kabel Hostnames Warn About the Certificate #
The Vodafone servers present one certificate, issued for the vodafonemail.de names. If your app still points at an old brand hostname, the server answers but the name on the certificate does not match the name you typed. The app then warns that it cannot verify the server, even though your password and everything else are correct.
Old names like imap.arcor.de, pop3.arcor.de, mail.arcor.de, imap.kabelbw.de and imap.unitybox.de all trigger it. The message often reads that the certificate belongs to a different address. Some apps say the site is trying to identify itself with invalid information. It is a name mismatch, not an expired certificate, so the date on your device is not the cause.
The tempting move is to accept the exception and connect anyway. Skip it, since that turns off the very check that keeps the link private. Thunderbird often refuses to store the exception in any case. The clean fix is to change the server names to imap.vodafonemail.de, pop3.vodafonemail.de and smtp.vodafonemail.de. The name then matches the certificate and the warning stops for good.
