Both come from your Bluewin account. The username is your full bluewin.ch address. The password is your Bluewin email password, which you manage in My Swisscom. There is no separate app password.

Put that same address on both incoming and outgoing.

Set Up Bluewin in Email Clients#
The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- In Outlook select Add Account, then turn on manual setup under Advanced options.
- Choose IMAP and set incoming to
imaps.bluewin.chon 993 with SSL. - Set outgoing to
smtpauths.bluewin.chon 465 with SSL. - Enter the full address and mailbox password when Outlook prompts you.
- Send a test message to yourself to prove both paths.
Apple Mail (macOS)
- In Mail select Add Account, then pick Other Mail Account.
- Give your name, bluewin.ch address and password, then continue.
- Enter imaps.bluewin.ch for incoming and smtpauths.bluewin.ch for outgoing.
- Keep the SSL ports so nothing sends in plain text.
- Save and wait for the mailbox to load.
iPhone and iPad
- In Settings open Mail, then tap Mail Accounts and Add Account.

Syncing Your Calendar and Contacts, Not Just Mail #

On a phone or tablet, Exchange ActiveSync does the lot in one account. Point it at sync.bluewin.ch on port 443 with your bluewin.ch address and email password. Mail, calendar, contacts and tasks then sync together. It works with the Mail app on iOS and the Gmail app on Android, though not with Apple Mail on a Mac or Windows Outlook.
On a computer you pair the IMAP mail settings with two more servers: CalDAV at caldav.bluewin.ch for the calendar and CardDAV at carddav.bluewin.ch for contacts. The full address for each appears in Bluewin Webmail under the calendar or address book properties. These suit iOS, macOS and Thunderbird, but Outlook does not read them. All of this sync needs the Bluewin E-Mail basic or advanced plan.
