Set or Reset a Mailbox Password
- Log in at one.com and open the control panel for your domain.
- Go to Email and pick the mailbox you want to change.
- Choose the password option, type a new one, then save.
- Refresh that password on each app and device that checks this mailbox.
Set Up one.com in Email Clients#
The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:
Outlook (Windows and Mac)
- In Outlook choose File then Add Account. In the new Outlook this lives under Settings, then Accounts, then Add account.
- Type your one.com address and pick the manual setup option when Outlook does not detect it.

- Send a note to yourself to confirm sending and receiving.
Apple Mail (macOS)
- In Mail choose Settings then Accounts then Add Account.
- Pick Other Mail Account, since one.com is not on the provider list.
- Enter your name, address and Webmail password, then carry on.
- Set incoming to imap.one.com and outgoing to send.one.com if Mail asks.
- Tick Mail in the app list to finish.
iPhone and iPad
- In Settings open Apps and then Mail, tap Mail Accounts and Add Account.
- Tap Other then Add Mail Account, since iOS has no one.com entry.
- Enter your details with the Webmail password, then tap Next.
- Set incoming to imap.one.com and outgoing to send.one.com by hand when iOS asks.
- Tap Save and let iOS check the mailbox.
Android
- Open the phone mail app such as Gmail or Samsung Email and tap Add account.
- Pick Other or Personal IMAP when one.com is missing from the list.
- Give your address and Webmail password, then move to Manual setup if it does not configure.

- Select Done to finish the setup.
Sending Mail from one.com#
one.com has two sending servers for two different jobs. Email apps use send.one.com. A website hosted on one.com uses mailout.one.com. Getting the pair straight clears up most sending problems.
send.one.com for email apps
This is the outgoing server for Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and your phone. Turn outgoing authentication on with the same login as incoming.
Ports: 587 with STARTTLS is the default. Port 465 with SSL also works. In the new Outlook for Windows, one.com points you to 465 with SSL.
mailout.one.com for a website
A site hosted on one.com sends contact form and script mail through mailout.one.com. one.com suggests the PHP mail function first, with this server as the fallback.
Note: mailout.one.com works only when the website sits on one.com servers. It is not for reading or sending your own mailbox in an app.
one.com Webmail Settings#
Server settings connect your apps. These options shape how the mailbox behaves on its own. Most sit in one.com Webmail under Settings.
Signature
Open one.com Webmail, then Settings and Signature. A signature added here shows in Webmail alone. Outlook and other apps hold their own.
Vacation Auto Reply
Open one.com Webmail, then Settings and Auto reply. Add a start and finish date so it turns itself off. one.com fires the reply from the server, so your machine can stay closed.
Filters and Folders
Open one.com Webmail, then Settings and Filters. Rules held on the server file your mail before Outlook or your phone opens it. App level rules work only while that app is running.
Spam and Blocked Senders
one.com filters spam on incoming mail. Manage safe and blocked senders in Webmail under Settings. Flagged mail drops into a spam folder you can review.

Find the exact error your email app shows, then apply the fix:

Reader Reported Fixes
Point the outgoing server at send.one.com. Readers whose mail would not send had smtp.one.com in the outgoing field. Swapping it for send.one.com and switching outgoing authentication on cleared the block. Port 587 with STARTTLS is the one.com default.
Fix mismatched folders with the INBOX path. When Sent and Draft appeared twice, setting the root folder path to INBOX in capital letters lined the client up with Webmail. The setting sits under the account advanced options.

Post Office Protocol version 3. Downloads mail to 1 device and can remove it from the server. Older method, still useful for local archives.

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Sends your outgoing mail. Every account needs it next to IMAP or POP3, which only receive.
SSL / TLS / STARTTLS
Encryption for the connection. SSL/TLS encrypts from the start (ports 993, 995, 465). STARTTLS upgrades a plain connection (port 587).
Webmail Password
The password you set for the mailbox in the one.com control panel. Your email app and Webmail both sign in with it, alongside your full email address.

The one.com outgoing server for sending mail. It uses port 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL. Typing smtp.one.com by mistake stops sending.
