Quick answer: Network Solutions mail now runs on the Open-Xchange platform. Incoming IMAP is netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993. POP3 uses netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 995. Outgoing is netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL. Sign in with the full email address and your mailbox password. The old mail.yourdomain names retired. Every setting on this page is verified with live IMAP and SMTP connections from Univik email software. We build email backup and converter tools since 2013, so we test against these servers every day. See what changed →

What Changed Recently#

Network Solutions moved mail to a new platform and new server names, which broke many older setups. Here is where Network Solutions email stands today and what it means for your setup.

Worth knowing

Mail moved to the Open-Xchange platform. Incoming is now netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. The old mail.yourdomain names stopped working, so update your app to the current servers.

Worth knowing

The certificate is issued to hostingplatform.com. Use the netsol server names rather than your own domain. Otherwise the app shows a certificate name warning.

Worth knowing

Outgoing prefers 587 with STARTTLS. Port 465 with SSL works if your app does not offer STARTTLS. The SMTP server always needs authentication with the same login as incoming.

Current status: incoming IMAP runs on netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com over SSL on 993 and POP3 on netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 995. Outgoing runs on netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com, 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL. The whole address is the login name and your mailbox password lets you in.

Before You Begin#

Handle these two basics before anything else. Skip them and your email app will reject the connection even when every server value is correct.

1. Create the mailbox

Set incoming to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and outgoing to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. The older mail.yourdomain names no longer work.

Where: Network Solutions account then Email

2. Know your mailbox password

The login is the full email address. The password is the mailbox password set for the mailbox in your Network Solutions account.

About Network Solutions#

Network Solutions is a US registrar founded in 1979, the first of its kind. Its email runs on the Open-Xchange hostingplatform.com servers. It is part of Newfold Digital.

Network Solutions registered the first .com domains in the 1980s and today sells domains, hosting and business email from Jacksonville, Florida. Its mail moved to the Open-Xchange platform, so incoming is netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and outgoing is netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. You sign in with the whole address and your mailbox password.

Use the current servers: The certificate is issued to hostingplatform.com, so use the netsol server names. Incoming is netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and outgoing is netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. The old mail.yourdomain names no longer connect.

Network Solutions Webmail Login#

You can always read your mail in a browser. The official Network Solutions pages are:

Watch out for fake support pages. Many pages ranking for email settings show a phone number and ask you to call for "expert setup help". Network Solutions and Univik never ask you to call a number to enter server settings. Everything you need is free on this page.

Find Your Settings#

IMAP is ready once the mailbox exists. Use the current hostingplatform.com servers, since the old names no longer connect.

  1. Sign in to your Network Solutions account at networksolutions.com.
  2. Open Email then your mailbox.
  3. Set incoming to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com over SSL.
  4. Set outgoing to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com over SSL.
Use the netsol server names. The certificate is issued to hostingplatform.com. The old mail.yourdomain names show a certificate name warning.

Network Solutions IMAP Settings#

IMAP is the incoming choice for Network Solutions. Mail stays on the netsol server, so webmail and your phone read one shared inbox. Incoming runs on netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com over 993.

IMAP Servernetsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com
Port993
EncryptionSSL/TLS (required)
UsernameYour full email address, including @yourdomain.com
PasswordYour mailbox password

Network Solutions POP3 Settings#

POP3 downloads mail to 1 device. Pick it only if you want a local copy on a single computer. Not sure? See the comparison below.

POP3 Servernetsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com
Port995
EncryptionSSL/TLS (required)
UsernameYour full email address
PasswordYour mailbox password
Careful with POP3 delete settings. With POP some clients delete Network Solutions mail from the server after download. Check "leave a copy on the server" if you still want mail in webmail.

Network Solutions SMTP Settings#

Stay on the secure ports: Network Solutions uses 993 for IMAP and 995 for POP3 over SSL. The plain ports 143 and 110 exist but send your login unencrypted, so keep SSL set.

SMTP handles outgoing mail. If you can read mail but not send it, the problem is here.

SMTP Servernetsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com
Port (SSL)465
Port (STARTTLS)587
EncryptionSSL or STARTTLS (required)
UsernameYour full email address
PasswordSame as incoming mail
AuthenticationRequired. Switch on outgoing server authentication in the client.
Nothing sending? Put sending on 465 with SSL. Many home connections block port 25. Network Solutions prefers 587 with STARTTLS and offers 465 with SSL. Confirm outgoing authentication is on.
Certificate warning? Use netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com rather than a mail.yourdomain name. The certificate matches the hostingplatform.com name, so the alert clears.

Check Network Solutions IMAP Settings Online#

You don't need to download anything to check Network Solutions IMAP settings online. This page is the lookup: every value is verified, current and copyable straight from your browser. Not sure your address uses Network Solutions servers? Enter it below to check in a moment.

Does my email address use these settings?

Runs in your browser only. Your address is never sent anywhere or stored.

Want to verify the account itself before configuring an app? Open Network Solutions webmail from your account, which confirms your address and password work. If webmail opens, any email app connects with the tables above.

Look Up IMAP Settings for Any Email Domain#

This page covers Network Solutions. For every other address, work email on a company domain included, we run a free online lookup database: imapsettings.com.

imapsettings.com

Complete email settings database, by Univik

Check IMAP settings online →

Enter any email address and get the incoming and outgoing server settings for that domain in 1 step:

Incoming server: hostname, port, SSL/TLS and username format
Outgoing server: SMTP hostname, port and encryption

Your address is used only to find the settings for that domain. Nothing is stored or shared.

Username and Password#

Both come from the mailbox itself. The username is the whole email address and the password is the mailbox password set for the mailbox in your Network Solutions account. A standard Network Solutions mailbox uses no app password.

Username is the full address

Type you@yourdomain.com in full, with the part after the at sign. Network Solutions turns down a bare mailbox name.

Put the same address on both netsol servers.

Password is the mailbox one

This is the mailbox password set in your Network Solutions account, not the registrar sign in for billing. Reset it under Email if an app keeps refusing it.

The registrar account sign in guards billing. A mail client uses the mailbox password over SSL.

Forgot the password? Open Email in your Network Solutions account, pick the address and set a new password. Change it in each app after that.

Set Up Network Solutions in Email Clients#

The servers and ports are always the same. Only the menus differ. Jump to your app:

Outlook (Windows and Mac)

  1. In Outlook select Add Account, then turn on manual setup under Advanced options.
  2. Choose IMAP and set incoming to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993 with SSL.
  3. Set outgoing to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587 with STARTTLS.
  4. Enter the full address and mailbox password when Outlook prompts you.
  5. Send a test message to yourself to prove both paths.

Apple Mail (macOS)

  1. In Mail select Add Account, then pick Other Mail Account.
  2. Give your name, Network Solutions address and mailbox password, then continue.
  3. Enter netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for incoming and netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for outgoing, both with SSL.
  4. Keep the SSL ports so nothing sends in plain text.
  5. Save and wait for the mailbox to load.

iPhone and iPad

  1. In Settings open Mail, then tap Mail Accounts and Add Account.
  2. Tap Other then Add Mail Account and fill your details.
  3. Keep IMAP chosen and put netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for incoming and netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for outgoing.
  4. Leave the secure ports iOS fills, since Network Solutions expects SSL.
  5. Tap Save and let iOS run its check.

Android

  1. Open your mail app and tap Add account, then Other or IMAP.
  2. Put in your address and password. Switch to manual setup if it stalls.
  3. For incoming use netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993 over SSL.
  4. For outgoing use netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587 with STARTTLS.
  5. Save and swipe down to fetch your mail.

Thunderbird

  1. In Thunderbird pick Account Actions, then Add Mail Account.
  2. Type your name, Network Solutions address and mailbox password, then Continue.
  3. Wait for detection, then make sure IMAP with SSL is picked.
  4. If detection fails, type netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for incoming and netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for outgoing.
  5. Hit Done and the folders fill in on the first sync.

Network Solutions Webmail Settings#

Server settings connect your apps. These controls set how a Network Solutions mailbox behaves on the server. They live in Network Solutions webmail, which opens from your account at networksolutions.com and runs on Open-Xchange.

Signature

Add one in the webmail preferences. The signature rides on mail sent from webmail. A desktop app keeps its own.

Vacation Auto Reply

Set a vacation reply in webmail and give it start and end dates. The Network Solutions server sends it, so it fires even when your machine is off.

Filters and Folders

Create filters in Network Solutions webmail. A server side rule sorts a message ahead of any device fetching it. A rule set inside an app only works while that app is open.

Spam and Blocked Senders

Network Solutions filters incoming mail for spam. Tune rules and blocked senders in webmail. Flagged mail lands in the spam folder for a look.

POP3 vs IMAP#

FeatureIMAPPOP3
Where mail livesOn the Network Solutions serverDownloaded to 1 device
Multiple devices✅ Everything stays in sync❌ Each device sees different mail
Sent and deleted mail✅ Synced everywhere⚠️ Stays only on that device
Offline reading⚠️ Cached mail only✅ Full local copy
Server storage usedYes, counts against your quotaCan be freed after download
Best forPhone + computer, everyday useSingle PC, local archives
Our verdict: pick IMAP unless you have a clear reason not to. If you want a permanent offline archive of your Network Solutions mailbox, a backup tool does that job better than POP3.

Network Solutions Sending and Storage Limits#

A few limits are worth knowing before you bulk forward or move a mailbox. Network Solutions runs mail on Open-Xchange with a few rules:

Mailbox storageSet by your email plan
UsernameFull email address
Incoming hostnetsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com
Outgoing hostnetsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com
SMTP ports587 STARTTLS or 465 SSL
CertificateIssued to hostingplatform.com

Troubleshooting Network Solutions Connections#

Find the exact error your email app shows, then apply the fix:

Error you seeWhat it meansFix
Username or password rejected Short username or wrong password Use the full email address with the mailbox password from your Network Solutions account, not the registrar sign in.
Cannot send on port 25 ISP blocks the default SMTP port Switch outgoing to 587 with STARTTLS on netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. Port 465 with SSL works too.
Certificate name warning Used a mail.yourdomain name The certificate is issued to hostingplatform.com. Use netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com so the name matches.
Old settings stopped working Servers moved to Open-Xchange Network Solutions moved mail to hostingplatform.com. Switch to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com.
Cannot connect to server Wrong port or encryption Set 993 with SSL incoming and 465 with SSL outgoing. A firewall on your own machine can block it as well.
Repeated password prompt Short username or a typo Clear the saved login, then put in the full address with the mailbox password.
Messages stuck in Outbox SMTP authentication is off Enable "outgoing server requires authentication" with the same login as incoming mail.
Outlook will not save the new settings Cached old profile or wrong encryption Remove the old account and add it fresh with netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993 SSL and netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587 STARTTLS.
Sending fails after the migration SMTP authentication is off Turn on outgoing authentication with the same login as incoming. Network Solutions has required it since 2023.

Reader Reported Fixes

Use the current servers. When a manual setup will not connect, set incoming to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and outgoing to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com over SSL. That pair clears most failed setups after the platform move.

Test the login in webmail first. Open Webmail from your Network Solutions account. If webmail opens, the credentials are right and the issue sits in the server names or ports.

Old Settings vs Current Servers#

Network Solutions moved mail to the Open-Xchange platform, so the old per-domain names stopped working. Here is the retired setup next to what connects today.

Retired

  • mail.yourdomain names
  • Plain ports without SSL
  • No SMTP authentication

Current

  • netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993
  • netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 995
  • netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587
  • SSL and SMTP authentication on
Still on the old names? If your app points at a mail.yourdomain name or sends without authentication, it stops connecting. Move to the netsol servers with SSL on and outgoing authentication on.

Moving Mail In or Out?#

Network Solutions mail speaks plain IMAP, so a mailbox moves in or out like any standard account. On a Network Solutions move each folder stays on the server until the copy ends.

Take a copy first. Back up the mailbox before a move. A note that arrives mid switch can sit on either side. A copy keeps you safe.

Carrying mail across? The Univik Email Migration Tool moves each folder over an IMAP link. Give it netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com with the mailbox password on this side and the other account opposite.

Rather hand it off? Our Email Migration Services team runs the whole move and verifies each folder arrived.

Use These Settings in Univik Email Backup#

The same IMAP settings above let you download your complete Network Solutions mailbox to your computer. Univik Email Backup saves everything as PST, MBOX, EML or PDF files you keep forever, even if the account closes.

  1. Download Univik Email Backup and install it on Windows.
  2. Select Network Solutions from the source list. If Network Solutions is not listed, pick a plain IMAP account.
  3. Give the complete email address with your mailbox password. On Network Solutions the login name is always the whole email address.
  4. When the backup tool wants server details, hand it netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on port 993 with SSL. Take those values straight from the IMAP table above, with port 993 over SSL.
  5. Pick a saving format and folder, then start the backup. Large mailboxes download in the background.
Why back up before switching providers: POP3 only grabs the inbox and vacation replies to a closed account bounce. A full IMAP backup keeps every folder, attachment and date stamp in files any email app can open later. Moving to a new account instead of archiving? Use the email migration tool to copy mail directly between accounts.

Email Settings Glossary#

IMAP

Internet Message Access Protocol. Reads mail that stays on the server, so all your devices see the same inbox, folders and read status.

POP3

Post Office Protocol version 3. Downloads mail to 1 device and can remove it from the server. Older method, still useful for local archives.

SMTP

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Sends your outgoing mail. Every account needs it next to IMAP or POP3, which only receive.

SSL / TLS / STARTTLS

Encryption for the connection. SSL/TLS encrypts from the start (ports 993, 995, 465). STARTTLS upgrades a plain connection (port 587).

Mailbox Password

The password set for a mailbox in your Network Solutions account. Your email apps use this, not the registrar sign in for billing.

netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com

The Network Solutions IMAP incoming server, on 993 over SSL. It is the recommended incoming choice.

Network Solutions Account

The networksolutions.com area where you manage mailboxes, set passwords and open webmail.

Open-Xchange

The mail platform Network Solutions runs, reached at hostingplatform.com. Webmail and the mail servers sit on it.

netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com

The Network Solutions outgoing server, on 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL. It always requires authentication.

hostingplatform.com

The domain the Network Solutions mail servers and certificate use. The netsol server names end in it.

Newfold Digital

The parent company of Network Solutions. It also owns Bluehost, HostGator and Register.com.

STARTTLS

The way port 587 upgrades a plain link to an encrypted one. Network Solutions prefers it for sending.

netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com

The Network Solutions POP3 server, on 995 over SSL. It is separate from the IMAP host, which ends in -imap-oxcs.

SMTP authentication

Signing in on the outgoing server with the same login as incoming. Network Solutions has required it since 2023.

TLS 1.2

The minimum secure protocol Network Solutions accepts. Older versions were turned off, so update your app if sending fails.

How We Verify These Settings#

Univik builds email backup, migration and converter software since 2013. Our tools sign in to Network Solutions over IMAP and SMTP every day for thousands of users, so a changed server, port or login rule shows up in our connection logs before most guides notice it.

Every value on this page is confirmed with three checks: a live IMAP and SMTP connection from Univik Email Backup, a comparison against the Network Solutions guides and a sign in with a real mailbox using the full address. We re verify after any provider announcement and at least once a quarter.

Found something that no longer matches what Network Solutions shows you? Tell us and we will retest and update the page, with the change logged in what changed recently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Point your app at netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on port 993 over SSL. Your login name is the full email address and the password is your mailbox password. Outgoing uses netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 587 or 465. The IMAP settings section holds the full table.

Check the username first. It must be the complete address rather than the part before the at sign. Use the mailbox password from your Network Solutions account, not the registrar sign in for billing.

IMAP suits nearly everyone. Mail stays on the server so webmail and your phone match. POP downloads mail to one machine and can lose it if that machine fails. Full comparison here.

Yes. The server, ports and encryption match on iPhone, Android and Windows. Only the path to the settings screen shifts by app, which the client setup guides spell out.

Incoming is netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and outgoing is netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. The old mail.yourdomain names retired when Network Solutions moved mail to the Open-Xchange platform.

Yes. Leave SSL set on each server so the sign in never travels in the open. The certificate is issued to hostingplatform.com, so use the netsol server names.

An email client with IMAP downloads mail as it syncs, but a dedicated backup tool is faster and saves standard files you can open anywhere. See how to back up your Network Solutions mailbox. If you already exported files in another format, an email converter changes them to PST, PDF or whatever your new app opens.

With Network Solutions the culprit is often the platform move. The old mail.yourdomain names retired, so switch to netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com. Check what to know.

A migration tool copies mail across the two accounts on an IMAP link. Give the Network Solutions IMAP settings with netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com and the mailbox password on this side and the destination details on the other. Each folder lands with its dates intact.

If setting this up feels risky or you have many accounts to move, our managed email migration service does the entire job for you.

POP3 uses netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on port 995 over SSL. That is a different host from IMAP, which uses netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com on 993. IMAP is the recommended choice for most people.
