 Key Features

What It Does Univik Foxmail Converter, feature by feature

Univik Foxmail Converter covers eight tasks from one window.

Opens All Configured Foxmail Accounts

Open lists all accounts you set up in Foxmail, taken from the Storage folder. Tick one account or several and start a batch. Foxmail exports nothing beforehand.

Works Without Foxmail Installed

Univik Software opens the account files itself, so Foxmail needs no installation and no open window. Converters that need a client export first stop working when Foxmail will not start. The preview shows every configured account with its emails, contacts, calendars and attachments. A double-click opens an attachment.

Opens a Storage Folder From a Dead PC

Univik Software opens a Storage folder copied off a dead drive. Point Browse at the copy and all account folders inside it appear on a new PC with their Mails, Boxes and Account.rec0 files. Foxmail is not needed there.

Emails, Contacts and Calendars Together

Foxmail accounts store more than mail. Univik Foxmail Converter opens address books and calendars with mail. Contacts export as VCF files and calendars as ICS files, which Outlook and Google both import.

Batch Foxmail Converter for Large Stores

Tick accounts and folders and Univik Software converts them as one batch. Testing on a store of 2 accounts and 86,000 emails took about 42 minutes. Inbox, Sent and custom folders came out under the same names.

Twelve Output Targets

Eight file types sit on the Export menu, from PST and MBOX to PDF and SQL Script. Live targets are Gmail, Office 365, IMAP and a Thunderbird profile.

Extract Addresses, Phone Numbers and Photos

Extract menu entries export email addresses, phone numbers, matching address and phone pairs, contact photos and attachments as standalone files.

Your Storage Folder Stays Unchanged

Univik Software opens Mails, Boxes and Account.rec0 in read-only mode and creates PST, MBOX, VCF and ICS files in a separate output folder. Your Storage folder stays as Foxmail left it, so you can repeat the conversion or open the client afterwards.

 Problem

Why Your Foxmail Mail Is Hard to Move

Years of mail, contacts and calendars sit in your Foxmail Storage folder. Moving them to another program leaves you two options and both have a catch.

Foxmail's Own Export Handles One Folder at a Time

Foxmail exports a folder to .eml files only while the client is open. One pass covers one folder and carries the mail alone. Address book and calendar exports are separate, so a full mailbox takes many manual steps.

Other Converters Want Exported Files First

Converters that need an export from the client first still depend on Foxmail opening. If Foxmail will not start or the old PC is gone, that option is closed.

Open the Foxmail Storage Folder Directly

Univik Foxmail Converter skips the export step and opens the Storage folder itself. Univik Software lists configured accounts and exports mail, contacts and calendars to PST, MBOX, PDF, VCF or ICS. Convert a copy of the Storage folder and keep the old PC until message counts match.

 Inside the Store

Where Foxmail Keeps Your Accounts

Storage

Account Folder

Foxmail 7.x keeps mail in a Storage folder inside its own program folder. Account subfolders in Storage carry the email address as their name.

Mails, Boxes

Mail and Index

In an account folder, Mails contains one file per message in data subfolders and Boxes maps all messages to their folders. Message 2824 in a Foxmail 7.2 sample store sits at Mails\8\24\2824. Account.rec0 next to Mails contains the account settings.

FMStorage.list

Where the Data Really Is

If mail was moved off the program folder, FMStorage.list records its real path. Univik Foxmail Converter follows that path, so you don't have to look for mail yourself.

 Three Steps

How to Convert Foxmail Without Foxmail

Univik Software needs only the Storage folder. With the folder copied, Foxmail needs no installation and exports nothing.

1

Open the Storage Folder

Click Open and the converter lists accounts configured in Foxmail. On a new PC, click Browse instead and select the Storage folder you copied across.

2

Choose Data and Format

Tick the accounts and folders, choose mail, contacts or calendars, then open the Export menu. Choose PST for Outlook, MBOX for Thunderbird or Apple Mail, PDF for a records folder or IMAP to fill a live mailbox.

3

Start and Match the Counts

Start the batch. When it ends, compare message counts in the output folder with the account tree before you retire the old PC.

 Who Uses It

When You Need a Foxmail Converter

Three situations suit Foxmail converter software from Univik, from a move to Outlook to a PC that will not start Foxmail.

Moving to Outlook or Microsoft 365

Outlook opens PST files directly. One PST per account carries all folders across. Contacts and calendars arrive as VCF and ICS files beside the PST.

Foxmail Will Not Start on the PC

Foxmail crashes on launch or the old machine is dead, yet its Storage folder is still accessible. Copy that folder, browse to the copy and all accounts open.

Mail Archived as Records

Contracts, invoices and client mail have to stay available for years, longer than an email client lasts. Mail exported as PDF opens in common PDF software. Contacts exported as VCF open in common address book apps.

 Finding Your Files

Where Foxmail Stores Your Data on Disk

Storage path

Foxmail keeps everything on your own computer. In version 7.x data sits in a Storage folder inside the program folder, for example C:\Program Files\Foxmail 7.2\Storage, with one subfolder per account named after its email address. If someone pointed the client at another drive, FMStorage.list in the program folder records the real path.

Close Foxmail first if it is open, because it can still change the Storage folder. Copy the full folder to a Windows 11 or 10 PC and leave the original in place until you check output. Single account folders work too.

Univik Software opens the copy from a USB stick, a network share or an external drive, so a new machine never needs Foxmail.

Messages exported from the client are plain .eml files. Open one .eml message at a time with the free Univik EML File Viewer.

Foxmail's own Mail Archive tool creates .fox files, one per account. Univik offers a FOX File Converter and a FOX File Viewer for those archives.

 Side by Side

Three Ways Out of Foxmail

If one folder is all you need, try the client’s own Export Mail first. For a full store with contacts and calendars, Export Mail stops short, as the table shows.

 What You Need

System Requirements Univik Foxmail Converter works on 64-bit Windows 11 or 10 with .NET Framework 4.8

Windows Version

64-bit Windows 11 or Windows 10. .NET Framework 4.8 ships with both through Windows Update, so setup stays quick with no extra runtime to install.

Foxmail Not Required

Univik Software opens the Storage folder on its own. Foxmail matters only when you want Open to list configured accounts instead of browsing to the Storage folder.

Free Disk Space

Keep free disk space for the output files. Check your Storage folder size before you start, since a test store with 2 accounts measured about 5.8 GB.

File Exports Offline

File exports from PST through to VCF work without the internet. Installer downloads and Gmail, Office 365 and IMAP uploads need a connection.

 Questions

Foxmail Conversion Questions

Univik Foxmail Converter lets you convert Foxmail without Foxmail by opening the Storage folder directly. On a PC that still has Foxmail, Open lists the accounts for you. On a new PC, copy the Storage folder across, Browse to the copy and start the batch for PST, MBOX, EML or PDF.

Yes. Copy the Foxmail Storage folder off the old drive, click Browse and select the copy. Univik Foxmail Converter shows every configured account in a preview with its emails, contacts, calendars and attachments. It accepts a single account folder too. A double-click opens an attachment. Foxmail does not need to be installed or open on that PC.

Univik Foxmail Converter supports Foxmail 7.2, 7.1 and 7.0, plus the older version 6 store. Foxmail 7.2.25 is the current version from Tencent, released on 6 July 2026, as listed on Foxmail for Windows. Accounts from that version open the same way as accounts from earlier 7.x versions.

Foxmail 7.x keeps your mail in a Storage folder inside its own program folder, for example C:\Program Files\Foxmail 7.2\Storage. Account subfolders carry the email address as their name, with Mails, Boxes and an Account.rec0 file inside. If someone moved the data, the file FMStorage.list in the program folder records the real path.

Yes, Univik Foxmail Converter handles emails, contacts and calendars. Contacts come out as VCF (vCard) files and calendars as ICS files, which Outlook, Gmail and Apple apps all import. Univik’s free VCF File Viewer opens a saved VCF file in the browser.

No, Univik Foxmail Converter opens the Storage folder in read-only mode and creates PST, MBOX, VCF and ICS files in a separate output folder. Mails, Boxes and Account.rec0 stay as the client left them. File exports never leave your Windows PC and mail goes online only for a Gmail, Office 365 or IMAP upload into the mailbox you sign in to.

Yes, through the Export menu, where Gmail, Office 365 and IMAP sit next to the file formats. Gmail accepts Google OAuth or an App Password and IMAP reaches other mailboxes with a host, port and password. Office 365 uses Microsoft OAuth because it allows Modern Authentication only.

Export menu entries cover EML, MBOX and PST for mail files and PDF, HTML, TEXT and CSV for documents. SQL Script covers databases while Gmail, Office 365, IMAP and a Thunderbird profile act as live targets. Contacts export as VCF and calendars as ICS alongside the mail.

Trial mode costs nothing and converts the first 10 items per folder, enough to open the PST or VCF and compare it with Foxmail. Licences remove that limit and start at $39 for 2 PCs. Refunds are available within 30 days.

No, Univik Foxmail Converter is a Windows 11 and Windows 10 program. Mac users can copy the Storage folder to a Windows PC, convert it there and bring the MBOX back to Apple Mail. Univik’s free online EML viewer shows a single exported .eml message in Safari or Chrome.

Compiled by Univik Product team

Univik product staff checked these details on 22 October 2026 against the software and the Foxmail for Windows download from Tencent. Test figures come from version 6.10 on a Foxmail store of 2 accounts, their default folders and 23 more folders. Univik Software leaves the Storage folder unchanged.

Totals came to 86,000 emails, 289 contacts and 589 calendar entries, about 5.8 GB in all. All emails, contacts and entries came across in a conversion of close to 42 minutes. Licences carry a refund within 30 days under the Refund and Cancellation policy.
